Manchester United have been calling Louis van Gaal while he is at the World Cup.

The Netherlands coach is of course a former United boss, having succeeded David Moyes at the Old Trafford stadium club.

However, speculation has mounted that United are calling van Gaal about his star striker Cody Gakpo.

Van Gaal, 71, left his phone in a hotel toilet in Doha, which was then discovered by a Dutch journalist.

There were also two missed calls on the phone, with a caller ID that said ' Manchester United.'

It did have a screenshot of Van Gaal and his wife, which indicated the phone was the Dutch boss's, per The Mirror.
