Sam Allardyce sought a board role with Leeds before his departure last week.
Allardyce was cut loose by Leeds after his short spell as manager failed to keep them up.
And it's emerged the veteran sought a revised role when meeting with the board last week.
The Sun's Alan Nixon reported on his Patreon page that Allardyce was keen to carry on at Elland Road as either a 'general manager' or as a 'director of football'.
However in the end, Leeds and Big Sam agreed to part ways.
