UEFA under pressure to end ownership laws

Manchester United could be set to face a ban from next season's Champions League.

The Premier League club are in the process of acquiring INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a new investor.

The British billionaire will buy around 25 percent of the club and assume sporting control.

Per The Sun, UEFA bosses are under pressure to remove a rule that could ban United or Nice from the Champions League.

Nice are owned by INEOS, while UEFA rules say that two clubs that have the same owner cannot play in the same competition.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin is under pressure to reform the regulations.
