Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu admits former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi is an inspiration.

The PSG star has just led Argentina to the final of the World Cup.

Deulofeu told Cadena SER: "I would like to thank Messi for everything he does. He motivates me a lot. You can see the passion he gives to a whole country, which gives to the whole world."

Of his own situation, Deulofeu also said: "I'm ready to return to the national team, but it's not just up to me. I'm fine, I've reached a remarkable level of form.

"Without a doubt the Premier League (is my favourite competition), not only for the organisation but also for the passion of the fans. Every game is a show."
