Udinese midfielder Gerard Deulofeu admits: I wasn't good enough for Barcelona

Udinese midfielder Gerard Deulofeu holds no grudge against former club Barcelona.

Deulofeu came through the La Masia system and had two spells as a senior player with the Blaugrana.

He told Cadena SER: "I am grateful for what I have had but I would not go back to Barça.

"My time has passed; I arrived in a winning team, not in a transition team like now, and I was not at the level of the champions who were there. It is difficult to manage, especially if you don't have the right environment or mentality.

"I needed help and at the time I didn't have it. Now, fortunately, I have it. I was discontinuous, playing a good game and four bad ones. When you play in a Barça like that, you have to be on an incredible level. I didn't offer the performance expected of a Barça attacker and so I had to leave."
