USA captain Tyler Adams admits he has enjoyed his recent spell out of the spotlight.

The American has been absent for much of the season with various injury issues.

He is now a Bournemouth player and came off the bench for them in a 4-3 win over Luton Town recently.

Speaking to reporters in America, Adams said: “There was never a doubt in my mind that the moment will come.

“Anyone that knows me know that I do a lot of my work behind the scenes. I go about my business in the right way.

“I've been continuously working non-stop in the past months to make sure that this time would come.

“I'm not sure if anyone thought it would come this soon, but I was continuously just pushing myself and making sure that I was hitting my objectives in a smart way, not rushing the process, making sure I was hitting all my benchmarks.

“Now, here I am."
