Tromso IL defender Jade North has reportedly accepted an offer to trial with Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan.

The 28-year old former Newcastle Jets captain is being heavily linked with A-League club Wellington Phoenix but will undergo a trial with Beijing according to O Kosmos.

The Phoenix had offered North a three-year deal but he is hoping to keep his overseas dream alive after a failed stint with Korean club Incheon United and a less-than-average stay with Norwegian outfit Tromso.

North will link up with former Jets teammate Joel Griffiths and his younger brother Ryan at Beijing.
