Toulouse coach Carlos Martinez is delighted seeing Fermin Lopez make his breakthrough at Barcelona this season.

Martinez coached Fermin while working inside the La Masia academy.

He told Sport: "He is a clear example that everything depended on the conditional part. It has been many years since I have seen Fermín. When he was a Junior B player I went to see him with Betis and the decision was that despite being very small and that it could take him a few years, he had enormous talent.

"I trained him in Infant A and Cadet A. Maybe he didn't play as much in the important games because his physique was very limiting.

"But that doesn't mean we didn't see great talent. And we hoped that he would reach the physical minimums that would allow him to compete at the top."
