Toronto FC's Luis Silva apologizes for his part in drunken brawl

Luis Silva has apologized for his involvement in a drunken altercation in Houston last week.

The 23-year old midfielder, along with Toronto FC teammates Nick Soolsma and Miguel Aceval, were arrested for being in a brawl in the early hours of last Monday morning ahead of last week's midweek clash with Houston Dynamo but he has since talked it over with those closest to him and is hoping to get on with things in a more positive fashion.

"It was just a stupid mistake I made," he told The Toronto Star. "I shouldn't have been there.

"And, for my part, that will never happen again.

"I apologized. I told them (my teammates) I was really sorry for my actions."

He added: "The bad thing was that it was Father's Day on Sunday and I'm like, 'I can't believe this just happened.' Obviously, I just made a stupid mistake. I regret it. I should have never done it.

"But, we learn from our mistakes."
