Todd Kane: What I think of Chelsea captain Terry...

Chelsea youngster Todd Kane has revealed that Blues skipper John Terry is one of his main boyhood idols.

Terry is an undoubted legend at Chelsea and the fact that he emerged from the club's own academy makes the 35-year-old even more adored by the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Kane is also an academy graduate who is currently looking to make his mark for the Chelsea first team and the defender has stated that Terry is the player who serves as his inspiration.

The 23-year-old told the Daily Mail : “When I was young at the academy my idols were him, Denis Wise and Gianfranco Zola.

“I would spend ages looking at them train.

“When I got older and the others left there was JT to look up to. What he has done for Chelsea is incredible.

“I feel I have a good relationship with him. He understands I have been at the club a long time. I feel we have the same mindset.

“I am not just there because I want to make up the numbers up. I am there because I want to, in the future, have a proper chance to take over what he has done for the club. The way I am as a person I know I can do that. But I need the opportunity.

“I love the club. It is everything to me. I know my job cannot get any better. I go in every day with a smile on my face."
