Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has given the green light to open new contract talks with Mauro Icardi.

Thohir spent yesterday in meetings with coach Roberto Mancini and his predecessor Massimo Moratti.

At the end of the day, reports Sportsmediaset, Thohir called Inter chief Piero Ausilio to launch negotiations with Icardi's camp over a new contract.

Inter will offer terms based on Mancini's recommendations: a deal to 2019, with his salary increasing from €800,000 to €2.5 million.

A bonus of €1 million will also be on the table to convince Icardi to commit his career to the Nerazzurri.
