Ten Hag: Man Utd players kept fighting - but Brentford deserved point

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was pleased with the spirit shown in their scratchy 1-1 draw at Brentford.

Kristoffer Ajer canceled Mason Mount's 96th opener three minutes later for the Bees to earn a more than deserved point.

But Ten Hag said: "If you are winning then you shouldn't give it away. Normally we are a strong side in such situations, we have to bring it over the line and that is disappointing.

"We should have acted differently in the occasion when we conceded the equaliser. It was absolutely unnecessary.

"I have to make compliment to the team to hang in there and keep fighting.

"Even when we don't play well we have to win the game and we almost did. That is what disappoints me the most.

"We should all stand up and all take responsibility for this."

"We will keep fighting. It could be a very good point in the end."
