Ten Hag delighted with Rashford after Man Utd Cup win against Burnley

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was delighted with their 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Burnley on Wednesday night.

Goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford either side of half-time were enough for United to see off a spirited Burnley side. Rashford's goal was the moment of the night after he ran from inside his own half before firing in a fine effort.

Ten Hag hailed the England star's performance. He said: "He was great.

"I think he was a constant threat and playing on the backline and was dangerous with his dribbling and movement. He runs so much. Eventually you get the benefit."

United will find out their quarter-final opponents on Thursday after Manchester City play Liverpool in the final game in the round of 16. Ten Hag admits his side still need to up their game after the six-week break for the World Cup.

He continued: "It was difficult to get the press but we did and we need to take more benefit from that. There is still room for improvement but I am pleased with the win."
