Technical Committee of Referees call on Girona and David Lopez to 'rectify' comments about Ortiz Arias

The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) have announced the matchday recordings show no evidence of ref Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias didn't insult Girona midfielder David Lopez at any stage during yesterday's game.

At halftime of Girona's 5-2 win against Almeria, Lopez gave a stunning interview where he accused Ortiz Arias of insulting him.

But the CTA stated on Monday morning:

"Once the CTA has listened to the complete audios of the Girona-Almería match, recorded as indicated in the VAR protocol, it wants to report that the match referee, Mr. Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias, at no time insults or disrespects the player no. 5 of Girona, Mr. David López. He only warns him that if he continues with that behavior he will be forced to give him the second warning.

"We invite the aforementioned player, the club's coaching staff and the managers that the entity considers appropriate to listen to the audio of the match at the CTA headquarters. Once the hearing is over, we will request a public rectification in the same terms as his statements."
