Republic of Ireland No2 Marco Tardelli is happy seeing Claudio Ranieri now in charge of Inter Milan.
The former Nerazzurri boss has experience of being fired at San Siro, so feels for Gian Piero Gasperini.
"We are a bit of a strange people in Italy, as we have Presidents who are hard-line fans or think they are better than their Coaches," Tardelli told Radio Sportiva.
"Other nations don't fire their tacticians before the season begins or after two months of work. Gasperini needed support from the club, as he is a young Coach, not to be discredited by his own employers.
"Ranieri has always done well wherever he went, but lacked that final step to do even better. He is the right man to fix Inter. If you want a Nerazzurri squad on a level with Jose Mourinho's era, then you need to get the right players."
