Manchester United are ready to upgrade Tahith Chong's contract.

The Daily Star says the 18-year-old has graduated to United's first-team squad and he is in line for a pay hike from his current £1,500-a-week deal.

The winger was on the bench for last week's Champions League defeat to Juventus at Old Trafford.

Chong, who has been handed the No.44 shirt in Jose Mourinho's senior squad, suffered a knee injury last season that interrupted his exciting progress.

But he impressed on the club's pre-season tour of the USA after regaining his fitness and he is now very much in Jose Mourinho's thoughts for the rest of this season.
