Dominik Szoboszlai was delighted to make a first appearance for Liverpool in their preseason win against Karlsruhe.

The Hungary captain enjoyed 45 minutes as Liverpool won 4-2 on Wednesday.

He later told liverpoolfc.com: "It felt very good, a very proud moment for me and for my family as well. I'm really looking forward to having more and more games in the Liverpool shirt.

"Of course it always feels good to win the game. I think we did everything that is possible; a good first game, now concentrating on the second one."

Of the welcome he's had from his teammates, Szoboszlai added: "I felt really, really good – nice guys. They did it like I came to a team [where it feels like] I've been already. I thank all of them. Also the manager is German so I know this style of play in football, so nothing new for me. But still I have to do everything my best every day – and I'm going to do it."
