Sunderland reserves coach Bertschin welcomes Campbell comeback

Sunderland reserves coach Keith Bertschin was delighted with Fraizer Campbell's playing return this week against Bolton Wanderers.

Former Manchester United striker Campbell looked lively and came close on a number of occasions against an experienced Bolton side who asked and gave no quarter during a bruising 90 minutes.

"It was a physical battle and if you come into that sort of game only half at it you'll soon find yourself in trouble," Bertschin told safc.com.

"Fraizer kept the ball well for us and with every game he plays he's looking a bit more like it.

"He'll need a few more games - you have to appreciate the length of time he's been out."
