Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is ready to start Santiago Vergini against Arsenal.
Poyet is backing Argentina international Vergini to come through a demanding full debut at Arsenal.
He said: "Santiago would have played last week against Manchester City if it hadn't been postponed.
"But the idea is to give him the chance to start a league game, so he will probably play at Arsenal. I watched him in the cup games; he hasn't had any problems.
"He is ready to start in the league."
