Former striker John Aldridge expects Raheem Sterling to be leading the line for Liverpool against Arsenal this weekend.
Star striker Daniel Sturridge has once again been struck by an injury curse and he looks set to miss the all-important clash with the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday due to a hip problem.
Liverpool do have Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli as natural replacements for Sturridge but former star Aldridge believes that manager Brendan Rodgers will look to start with Sterling in attack instead.
Aldridge stated in his column for the Liverpool Echo: "It looks like Daniel Sturridge will miss out this weekend with a hip injury, and so I expect Raheem Sterling to move into the centre forward position.
"It worked at Manchester City, and it can work again. In fact, that City game was probably the last time Liverpool really played well."
