Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas admits they're fortunate to have sold Bruno Fernandes when they did.
Sporting sold Fernandes to Manchester United in January for €46.6m.
And Varandas concedes they're lucky to have raked in such a fee given the mooted collapse of the transfer market this summer.
Reacting to the coronavirus impact, he said: "The big problem for the big three is going to be the transfer market. Fifty percent of the revenues comes from the transfer market, from the sale of players.
"Maybe next year we will have to sell only a quarter of the stadium's capacity and that means a quarter ticketing revenue, sponsors, partners. It will be a new reality and a very serious problem."
Varandas then gave the example of Bruno Fernandes: "He was sold for 55 million euros in January, today how much is he worth? 30 million? 20 million? Nobody knows!"
