Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes has told friends he's desperate to join Manchester United.

Record says personal terms have already been agreed with the 25-year-old, who is equally desperate to complete his move to the Premier League, having seen a switch to Tottenham collapse on deadline day in August.

A close friend of Fernandes told Record on Monday that the Portuguese international is confident an agreement will be reached.

United are struggling to meet the £60m fee Sporting are demanding to sell Fernandes.

The midfielder is in Sporting's squad for their Portuguese Cup tie with Braga this week.
