Spain captain Sergio Ramos says Norway deserve respect after victory in their Euro qualifier.

Spain picked up a hard fought 2-1 win over Norway and Real Madrid defender Ramos claimed that he wasn't surprised it was so difficult.

"A new road is starting now for us and there was no better way to begin than with a win against an opponent who made it hard for us despite us dominating the ball," he told TVE.

"After we conceded, the team reacted well.

"We knew it would cost us and be difficult, but we are happy.

"Perhaps we could have won by more, but the game didn't work out like that."
