Southend United have signed young defender Jakub Sokolik from Liverpool.
The 20-year old centre-back has joined the Shrimpers on loan for the remainder of the League Two season.
Sokolik, who arrived at the Reds' Kirkby Academy from his hometown club Banik Ostrava in 2009, had impressed in a trial for Phil Brown's side last week.
The Czech Republic defender was on the bench for Southend's 2-2 league draw at Scunthorpe United tonight.
