Southampton have joined the battle for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

Chicharito is currently on-loan with Real Madrid, but they will not take up the option to sign him outright at season's end.

The Mirror says a number of clubs have been made aware of his availability with West Ham United also interested.

Southampton are currently struggling for goals with just two in their last six matches.
