Southampton's Romeo Lavia could fetch the relegated club even more money than they had expected.
The Saints put a £45 million valuation on the young central midfielder in the hopes of warding off interest.
However, the Premier League's top clubs are all chasing after Lavia, including Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Mail states that the Saints could end up getting even more money if they can trigger a bidding war.
Manchester City would be owed some of the funds from a sale, due to a sell-on clause in the deal that took Lavia to Southampton.
No bid has been accepted as yet, but there is a feeling he will leave before the transfer window closes.
