Southampton defender Jose Fonte is hoping for a first call-up to the Portugal squad this week.
The Daily Echo says the centre half has been included by new coach Fernando Santos on a preliminary list of 40 players for the upcoming friendly with France, and the Euro 2016 qualifier against Denmark.
The final squad is expected to be revealed on Friday.
