Former Sampdora star Graeme Souness has questioned Manchester United's move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Juve and United have agreed terms for the Frenchman.

Souness told talkSPORT: "If you take him now it's because he's not your first choice, but the second.

"At this moment Manchester United are reacting to events. In England the game for midfielders is not easy as intense as it is, and he at Juventus has not shone.

"If you have difficulties in Italy, well, then I have reservations about your chances in the Premier League."
