Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has reaffirmed his belief that the sale of Philippe Coutinho sparked the club's revival.
Since his exit, manager Jurgen Klopp has overseen a remarkable turnaround which culminated in a sensational Champions League triumph last season.
“Maybe, for the neutral, they were a better watch a couple of years ago," Souness told Sky Sports. “But when they got rid of Coutinho and brought in Van Dijk and Alisson, that's when they made that jump.
“All of a sudden they're a proper team."
