Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Erling Haaland for £4m.
The Manchester City striker has just been named Player of the Year by the Football Writers Association.
Solskjaer recommended Haaland to United when coach of Molde - before his own move to Old Trafford. The youngster would eventually be sold to RB Salzburg.
He told The Sun: “I called United about six months before I took over and told them that I'd got this striker that we had but they didn't listen.
"I asked for £4million for Haaland but they didn't sign him."
Haaland eventually ended up at City for £50million and is now rated as the world's most valuable striker at £200million.
