New Australian national team boss Holger Osieck has heaped praise on up and coming goalkeeper Adam Federici.
The 25-year old Reading number one was vital in the Socceroos' 2-1 win over Poland this morning, making a number of crucial saves including a penalty save from Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski in the 33rd minute.
Osieck admitted he did not need to see any more of Australia's leading custodian Mark Schwarzer so he gave Federici a chance and he vindicated his selection.
"We know what Mark can do, but I also had to get to know what Adam can do under real pressure like today," Osieck said.
"I thought he responded very well. It was a fantastic performance."
