Skipper Biraghi blasts Fiorentina defeat: If the brain isn't connected

Fiorentina defender Cristiano Biraghi blasted his teammates after their 3-2 defeat at Lecce on Friday.

Lecce stunned the Viola with Patrick Dorgu scoring an injury-time winner for the hosts.

Captain Biraghi said: "We knew it was a difficult pitch, we could go into difficulty and go behind. They transform at home, it was all planned and we could have suffered in the first half.

"Their characteristics dropped in the second half and we managed to play better. Then once it's overturned, what happened isn't acceptable.

"We knew we had to stay in the game because they often drop in the second half. We managed to turn it around, football is a serious thing, you have to play with your brain and not just your legs. And if the brain isn't connected, what happened happens. It is not acceptable if we want to aspire to certain positions."
