Danny Simpson has rejected a new contract offer from Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says the Mancunian full-back has also been told he will not be allowed to leave the Magpies this January.

And this will disappoint both Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa who are both keen on the former Manchester United defender.

Simpson still has two years left to run on his contract but talks on a new deal have now been postponed until the summer.
