Teddy Sheringham says former Manchester United teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the permanent job.

The pair spent some time together on Sunday for United's win at Tottenham.

Sheringham told TalkSPORT: “Ole is definitely asking the question, isn't he? He obviously wants the job.

“He's loving every minute but you can tell he's not being overawed by anything, he's getting results and he's getting the team flowing in full.

“He's really brought a breath of fresh air back to Manchester United recently and long may it continue."

“He's getting the results, he's in the hotseat at the moment, he's got the chance. Who knows what's going on above him, he can't do anything about that.

“All he needs to do is keep getting results and it speaks for itself, the players are obviously loving him, loving what he's doing and how he wants them to play.

“They're playing with a smile on their faces and they're getting results, what more could you want?"
