Former Sydney FC midfielder David Carney has joined Norwich City on a loan deal from Sheffield United.
Carney has struggled at Sheffield and has been given a lifeline by new Canaries boss Bryan Gunn who is assisted by ex-Sydney assistant Ian Crook.
It is believed Crook, who has just taken up his role, targeted Carney and offered a loan for the remainder of the season.
"I'm delighted to be joining a club such as Norwich - the club is obviously in a position they shouldn't be and hopefully I can do something to help move the team up the table," Carney said.
"I'm looking forward to working with Ian Crook again and can't wait to get started."
