Sheffield Utd boss Wilder: We deserved Chelsea draw after going full tilt

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says they deserved their 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

Oli McBurnie struck in injury-time for the Blades to earn the point.

Wilder said: "It was always going to be a challenge but I thought the team was outstanding. I didn't like the first 15 minutes but I did after that. My players gave it a good go and I would have been disappointed for everyone at this club if we didn't get something.

"The boys went full tilt against top players. A big effort from them. It didn't feel as if we are in the situation we are in. I do believe they [the fans] understand the situation we are in. The supporters were there when we needed it the most, which was towards the end of the game.

"We have had difficult starts here where the games are done and dusted after half an hour so it is something we have worked on. As I said I didn't like the first 15 minutes. But there were a couple of players that really set us alight - the midfield three. They started to get us playing and get us moving.

"At the end we went for it and in the end delighted Oli McBurnie got the equaliser.

"You have to get that type of performance to have the opportunity to get a result. We have been inconsistent this season but now we are showing a decent level. Now I am understanding and accepting what type of performance I am going to get."
