Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua believe they are still in the race to sign Chelsea star Didier Drogba.
The Ivory Coast striker has recently emerged as a target for Shanghai, who have already signed Nicolas Anelka from the Blues, with some reports suggesting a deal had been done.
Shanghai director Zhou Jun moved quickly to deny those claims but said there was a chance a contract could still be agreed.
"Maybe we can complete a deal before Chinese New Year [January 23]," he said.
