Rangers goalkeeper Grant Adam has pulled out of the Scotland U21 squad for this weekend's European Championship qualifier against Holland.
The 20-year old yesterday pleaded not guilty to an alleged sectarian breach of the peace when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court stemming from an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Even though he pleaded not guilty, Adam has decided to withdraw himself from the squad for the interests of the Scotland team.
"I have spoken to Grant and it has been decided that he will not be in the squad for the match against the Netherlands on Monday," U21s coach Billy Stark said.
"This is a footballing decision and has been made with the interests of all parties ahead of a very important qualifier."
