Scotland's belief has to come through - Rangers keeper McGregor

Allan McGregor says it is important that Scotland show plenty of belief when playing against Spain tomorrow night.

The Rangers keeper and his Scotland teammates are preparing to take on the World Champions in Euro2012 qualifying and although McGregor is aware that it is a difficult task, he says spirit and belief can go a long way to getting a positive result.

"That's what it's all about when we face Spain and of course I believe we can do it against them," he said.

"But we have to show that belief on the pitch.

"There's a great spirit in our side and you can see we're getting better all the time.

"There's no point going there with a view that the best we can hope for is to keep the score down.

"We have to think we can win and try to go out and do it. There's no point going into the game with any other type of mentality.

"We'll see what happens, but we'll definitely be up for the game. I'm not convinced their fans will be especially vocal because they don't really need to be up for it.

"But the Scotland fans will be out in force and will be giving us plenty of backing."
