Guti has been sacked as coach of Segunda Division Almeria.

The Real Madrid hero Guti was informed on Thursday by club owner Turki Al-Sheikhle of the decision after a dismal restart to the season, reports AS.

Almeria has shifted their morning training session to the afternoon, where Guti's replacement could be installed in time to take charge. Mario Silva is regarded as favourite.

Defeat to Alcorcón and remaining six points from direct promotion, has forced the decision.

Guti was only appointed by Almeria in November - his first job as a senior coach.
