DC United coach Wayne Rooney sees Declan Rice as Arsenal captain.

While Martin Odegaard has been praised for his work as skipper over the past year, Rooney believes new signing Rice is better suited.

He said: "I think he should be the captain of the team, really.

"I saw Frank Lampard say that he thought Declan could be Chelsea captain for the next 10 years if he moved there.

"I think he can do it at Arsenal, he has that character and I believe he will be a great player for Arsenal."
