Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli full of pride after debut goal: An honour to be coached by Mourinho

Roma midfielder Niccolò Pisilli admits he was emotional after scoring on debut last night.

Pisilli scored in their Europa League win against Sheriff Tiraspol.

Can you tell us about the goal and the tears?

"A very difficult emotion to explain. Something I've dreamed of all my life, I've been a Roma fan since I was little."

The Curva Sud that chants your name?

"Something crazy, I couldn't even imagine it. Roma fans are crazy, everyone knows it."

Did you come in with a great personality?

"I always try to make the plays I've always made, if you go in with fear it's the worst thing. The coach told me to stay calm and I hope I succeeded."

What else does Mourinho tell you?

"Working with him every day is incredible, an honour to be coached by him."

Who did you think of first after the goal?

"It was a mix of emotions, I thought about all the people who were part of the path that brought me here."

How long have you been at Roma?

"I joined when I was 9 years old, Roma is now a second family. Playing for Roma also means this."

Who inspires you?

"I don't have a player in particular, I like midfielders who fit in and I try to watch as many as possible. Even among those on the team."
