Roma defender Chris Smalling's home was burgled last night.
No-one was at home at the time as the burglars ransacked the villa.
Shortly after 9.00pm, Roma Today reports, criminals entered the footballer's villa on the Appia Antica and despite the alarm being triggered, the thieves left the house in a mess.
Smalling was due to speak with local police this morning to report any missing items.
It was the housekeeper who first encountered the villa's robbery before Smalling was alerted.
