Roma coach Mourinho: I want signings - but we're not Man City

AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho admits he wants defensive additions this January market.

Mourinho was speaking at his Europa League presser today.

He said: "Our market will always be suitable for what we can do. I'm counting on it, I'm the coach. We are together, it's not that I want one thing, Tiago another, the owners another. We all want the same thing.

"I'm not jealous, but City paid 80 million (euros) for (Kalvin) Phillips and in January they send him away and get another one. We are a different reality. I would like 1-2-3-4 players, we all want to try to improve the team, to be stronger, but we have difficulty doing so.

"I'll tell you honestly: if we sign a defender in the January transfer window, I'm already happy. Would I like more? Sure, but it's not possible. They are working to give me options for a difficult defender. Then if we take him we have difficulties for the UEFA list. Kristensen and Azmoun make the list? I would like people to understand this and be honest when talking about objects.

"It's one thing to want, one thing to be able to. We can do nothing more than a defender who can help. Ndicka won't be there from January 3rd, Mancini is within a booking of a ban, Llorente resists and continues to play, Smalling won't be there. In the end it will be possible to do something."
