Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has written to Flamengo to congratulate them on their Copa Libertadores victory.

It means Real and Fla will play in next year's Club World Cup.

Florentino wrote: "Dear President,

"I want to convey to you on behalf of our Board of Directors and on behalf of all of us who are part of Real Madrid our congratulations on the title of the Copa Libertadores won on October 29 in Guayaquil.

"This triumph in one of the most prestigious competitions in the world further enhances the institution you preside over. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo is one of the most loved and admired in the world of soccer.

"It will be a great honour for us to participate together with Flamengo in the next Club World Cup. I am sure it will be a wonderful opportunity to continue strengthening our historic friendship relationship.
