REVEALED: Mourinho planned to raid Man Utd, Liverpool for Real Madrid signings

Jose Mourinho was so far down the road over a return to Real Madrid that he discussed a summer shopping list with president Florentino Perez, it has been revealed.

Zinedine Zidane was confirmed coach after Real's dismissal of Santiago Solari last night.

Mourinho, sacked by Manchester United in December, was also up for the job, but lacked support inside the board room, revealed Okdiario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito.

Inda says Mourinho wanted to strengthen the Real XI with four big names from the Premier League: Tottenham pair Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

"Mourinho had a problem, which was that he broke relations with (vice-president) José Ángel Sánchez a few years ago and the Board of Directors said that it would not occur to them to bring him back," said.

"He also asked for players like Kane, Van Dijk, Eriksen, De Gea..."
