Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is working off an eight-man shortlist in his search for a sporting director.
RB Salzburg chief Christophe Freund has rejected an offer from Chelsea, going public with the approach last week.
As such, Boehly is moving on and is working from a list of names across Europe.
The Daily Mail says Tim Steidten (Bayer Leverkusen), Victor Orta (Leeds), Les Reed (ex-FA), Michael Zorc (ex-Dortmund), Sébastien Kehl (Dortmund), Monchi (Sévilla), Andréa Berta (Atlético Madrid) and Marc Overmars (Royal Antwerp) are all being considered.
