Real Sociedad signing Tierney: I'm ready to play; no issues with Arsenal

Kieran Tierney says he's fit to make his debut for Real Sociedad on Saturday against Granada.

The Arsenal fullback has arrived on-loan this week for the season with La Real. He held his media presentation yesterday:

What was key to the decision to make the move?

"Knowing that Real wanted to have me here, feeling all the love from the people here was very good. Being in the Basque Country, having the experience of living here and playing in LaLiga, is something I am very proud of. I hope things are going very well for me here."

How do you define yourself as a footballer?

"I would say, first of all, that I like to work hard. That is probably my best quality. As a defender, I like to defend a lot, keep a clean sheet, and also help the attackers who approach the area."

That Real play the Champions League is a big attraction?

"I think the team has to be very positive. They deserve to be in the Champions League, they did very well last season, also the previous ones going to the Europa League. I have already trained with my teammates and I think we are going to be up to the task."

How has your first days been with coach Imanol Alguacil?

"I think I can identify with hard work. I've been training for three days and the intensity of the coach and my teammates is incredible. Olabe and Bretos told me that the training sessions were very hard, that's what I like to do."

Why leave a club like Arsenal?

"I left because last season I couldn't play a lot and what I wanted was to play a lot of games and I wanted to try to do it at Real. I don't have any problem with Arsenal."

Fit for Saturday?

"100% yes, because I am training and I am feeling good, so if the coach wants, yes," he assured.
