Real Sociedad coach Imanol rues Mallorca Copa stalemate: Semifinal still alive

Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil admitted frustration after their 0-0 draw at Real Mallorca.

Tuesday's Copa del Rey semifinal first-leg finished in a stalemate on the island.

Imanol later said: "We leave with the feeling that we have left them alive, watching the second half. In the first, the game was very intense, even, but in the second we were much superior and we generated very clear chances, but we did not finish them. I think that if anyone deserved to win, and clearly, it was us, but the tie is still open.

"Although they have had their options, I would say that defensively we have been good even in the first half. We were very clear about how they could hurt us and I think the team has been at a very good level defensively. And, when their intensity had dropped, we were superior to them and we left the tie alive because we didn't get it right.

"No, not at all (we're favourites). It is true that we play at home, with our fans, but maximum respect for Mallorca, for games like the one against Girona or the first half today. I think they have very good players and a great coach, who knows what he's doing."
