Real Madrid to hold nerve over Zidane - even if more defeats arrive

Zinedine Zidane's future at Real Madrid will come into sharp focus over the next week.

After defeat at home to Cadiz and Champions League opponents Shakhtar Donetsk, Real now meet Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season this weekend.

And after the Barca showdown, Real return to the Champions League to meet Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany.

Marca says while it's unlikely Real's board will act so soon into the new season, two further defeats for Zidane's team will heap pressure on president Florentino Perez to consider the Frenchman's position.

For his part, Zidane has assured directors - and fans - he is the right man in charge and can "fix" the problems that have hit them in the early weeks of the campaign.
